Liverpool defender Dan Agger could be back in action within a fortnight after discovering he has not damaged his medial knee ligaments.

Liverpool defender Dan Agger could be back in action within a fortnight after discovering he has not damaged his medial knee ligaments.

The Denmark international was carried off during the defeat to United after a collision with Glen Johnson and feared he would be out for months.

But tests have revealed a slight rupture.

His agent Per Steffensen said: “He has not torn ligaments. He has a small rupture behind the knee and it has swollen and sore but once the swelling goes down, he can train again.”
